Eye Look (by me): Link!

Overall Rating: 4/5 Glittery Stilettos

Set includes:
  • 1-fl-oz Maracuja Miracle 12-hour Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in choice of fair, light, medium, tan, and deep
  • 0.60-fl-oz 100% pure Maracuja Oil rollerball
  • 0.10-oz LipSurgence Lip Shine in smitten soft pink with built-in sharpener
  • 0.24-fl-oz Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara in black
  • modernEYES waterproof creaseless shadow/liner duo in plumberry (pinkish plum) 0.017-oz/plum brown (deep purple brown) 0.005-oz
  • Retoucher bamboo foundation brush
How stunning is the packaging? The hot pink and purple floral print is so gorgeous I would love a little throw cushion or bed spread with the same pattern and colours. The size of the box is definitely overkill but the good news is you have a beautiful new nice sized storage box.

Maracuja Miracle 12-hour Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in light

Unfortunately I picked the wrong shade for my skin tone (the light is about 4 shades too dark - yes, I am that pathetically pale) so I haven't been able to wear it out of my house. If you are tan-challenged like myself (NC/W 15-20) I would definitely go for the fair. The light is about NC/W 25 (IMO) - Deep being around a NW47 (source). I love the packaging and that tarte included a pump and the bamboo element adds a natural vibe that makes me feel like I'm doing something good and natural for my skin. SPF 15 is ok but I would prefer higher, I will definitely have to pair this with a sunscreen. I really can't comment on the wear - I just can't make the colour work for me, even with added moisturiser or primer. The initial finish of the foundation is beautiful and offers a nice full coverage. Read a full product review by Oh to be a Muse here.

Retoucher bamboo foundation brush

Generally I don't like natural hair brushes for liquid foundation, this particular brush seemed to shed more then what I would consider "acceptable" although that's probably because it was the first use.
I wouldn't purchase this brush individually.

Shade Chart

100% pure Maracuja Oil rollerball

I'm a huge fan of the Maracuja oil, I was overjoyed when I saw this set included a rollerball travel/purse friendly size. It's inclusion alone pretty much sold me on this set. I love using maracuja oil for pretty much everything - a night cream or serum (used in conjunction with a night cream), a treatment for rough/dry patches of skin, makeup primer for normally drying foundation formulas (like Estee Lauder Double Wear), cuticle & hair oil.

I'm currently on my second bottle of maracuja oil (the first was a small size included in a past QVC special deal) which again I purchased from QVC (link). It has never made me break out - which was a big concern because I have oily skin. Oh and I prefer it to the Josie Maran Argan Oil which is also a lovely product but my skin just seems to love the maracuja. Highly recommend!

Maracuja C-Brightener Eye Treatment

A "first look" little sample/gift with purchase. I think I've had this set for around 10ish days now and I've used the eye cream every morning since. I haven't noticed any brightening to speak of yet but I adore the creamy but "jelly" texture. The hydration factor is superlative to my normal day eye cream (Origins Ginzing) so that's a definite plus. I really feel like this has the potential to be my new favourite eye cream, I will continue to use the sample until it's all gone and report back on results and whether or not I decide to buy the full size upon it's release.

modernEYES waterproof creaseless shadow/liner duo in plumberry/plum brown

Read my step by step eye tutorial using eyes modenEYES and gifted mascara HERE!

A love a good smudgey eye shadow pencil, they are my go to eye product on a typical work day. The quick and easy application with minimal effort and maximum definition makes this duo my favourite eye product of the moment. Both products held up extremely well with only minimal creasing at the end of my 13 hour work day. Betty Girl Makeup also did a fantastic post with swatches of the dry rub and waterproof tests check it out!

Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara in black

See this mascara in use HERE!

Mascara is something I can never be very loyal to, I'm like a mascara loving bee buzzing from tube to tube, flower to flower... It's not often a mascara surprises me, I thought this would just be one of those obligatory filler products that are usually included in makeup sets. Filler it is not, this mascara is "no joke" one of the best NEW mascara's I've tried in a while. The brush is my favourite and the formula is super volumizing. I would definitely re purchase at the $19 retail value.

LipSurgence Lip Shine in smitten soft pink with built-in sharpener

Like everyone else on the internet I took advantage of the tarte lipsurgence gift packs at Christmas and have really enjoyed them over the past six months. Smitten adds just the right amount of shiny pink to the lips, very pretty and wearable. I hate that this one needs to be sharpened unlike the other lipsurgences which have a little wind up bit at the bottom. At least they include a sharpener in the lid so it's always handy. I probably wouldn't pay full price for this shade, but it's a nice product to have.

What has your makeup done for you lately? (I had to!)....

  23. I am new to building websites and I was wondering
if having your website title relevant to your content really that vital?
I see your title, "Blogger: Superficial Sydney " does seem to be spot on with
what your website is about but, I prefer to keep my title less content descriptive and based more around site branding.
Would you think this is a good idea or bad idea? Any kind of help would be greatly
