What I say:

As a self confessed cosmetics hoarder I have tried and tested a LOT of products over the past 10 years. At this stage very few things make me coo with loving delight, Burberry has me cooing again... Which is ironic because when Burberry first launched their cosmetic's line I was disinterested and snuffed at anyone jumping on what I like to refer to as "the bandwagon".. I am eating my words.

These delicate silken shadows really are in a whole league of their own - I have never experienced a shadow that feels and applies quite like this. Hourglass and Rouge Bunny Rouge make 2 of the best luxury shadows on the market in my opinion and neither hold a flame to Burberry.

I adore the little magnetic packaging with the iconic Burberry check design etched into the graphite toned metal. *Que expensive sounding cosmetic case snap* Ahhh music to my ears.

The formula is exquisite and because of the high silicone content they glide on like butter, blend like a dream and cover a world of flaws. If you have mature skin and usually stick to more matte shades to avoid shimmer highlighting the signs of aging I really suggest you give Burberry shadows a try. Although most of their shades have "shimmer" it is so extremely finely milled it just comes off on the lid as a radiant sheen.

Wear time is fantastic and with a standard eye primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion) I don't experience any creasing even after 12 hours of wear - which is phenomenal for such a creamy shadow. Oh and don't let the name "sheer eyeshadows" deter you, there is certainly no lacking in the pigmentation department. But pigmentation isn't what these shadows are about!

Now on to the elephant in the room - the price - yes, these shadows are expensive and many of you are probably wondering if they are worth the price, in short yes... However I do think the Australian/UK mark up is ridiculous but this is consistent throughout the cosmetics industry. Not much we can about that but sigh as we hand over our hard earned cash.

The shade selection by Burberry is so well thought out, it was hard for me to pick just two shades to start out with. I am now lusting after Midnight Brown, Trench and Taupe Brown. I hope my owning them is on the near horizon.

Pale Barely No.22 is featured in Burberry's new collection for Spring/Summer 2012 Pale Barely is reminiscent of  MAC Patina but less taupe and more "grown-up". I am obsessed with the golden sheen. I'm convinced this is the shade I will wear on my wedding day.

Rosewood No.9 A cooler toned taupey brown with an amazing almost pink shimmer/sheen however I have seen it swatch very warm toned on a more olive complexion. I love wearing this shade on it's own all over the lid and blended into the crease and lower lash line. Beautiful.
