What they say:

It’s time to take your lashes to the extreme. This easy-to-use kit comes with two innovative formulations: an extension mascara and lash fibers. After applying the mascara, the revolutionary brush-on lash fibers will adhere to your own lashes for instant, luscious lash extensions.

Coats and extends each lash individually for incredibly long lashes. Smudge-free and tear-proof, yet easily removed with warm water. The more rounds of lash fiber you apply, the more dramatic the results. Doesn’t clump or come off until you decide to remove your makeup.

What I say:

I almost didn't want to include the buying information because I honestly wouldn't recommend ANYONE buy this.... ever! From first application of the lash fibres my eyes were so irritated and red I wanted to instantly remove it. I battled though and took some pictures - you can see below my bottom and top lash line are noticeably red and swollen. Application of the extension mascara over the top seemed to make things even worse and I removed it as soon as I finished taking pictures.

Removal was a nightmare -- I first went in with my Bioderma and a cotton round "BIG MISTAKE... HUGE!" (name that movie). The Bioderma made it flake and smear and all the little lash fibres ended up in my eyeball causing lots of pain and discomfort. I was so irritated I threw the product in a draw and didn't look at it again for a month.

So then I was flipping through a magazine and saw a huge advertisement featuring Danni Minogue looking dazzling with huge vixen lashes claiming it was her "secret weapon". The advert also had a little demo describing the "3 step process of application":

Revelation! I was missing out on the first step. So off I went to dig it out thinking something big was about to happen in the way of my lashes..... Talk about disappointment, applying that first coat of extension mascara before the fibres made it even harder for the fibres to adhere to the lashes and I ended up with itchy little fibres everywhere. I applied the final coat of extension mascara and the results were not at all different from the first time I applied just the last 2 steps? Beauty is pain but the results just aren't worth the constant itching and watering/redness of the eyes - and I don't have sensitive eyes!! I've never met a eye product I couldn't wear until this.

The second time I removed everything with warm water as the directions suggest - it was a little smother but still came off very flaky and that scares me with the high probability of those flakes/fibres getting in your eyes.

I received this mascara as a magazine freebie so I'm wondering if the quality differs from the normal formula. The packaging pictured below is different to the standard packaging which is comparable to the Too Faced Better Than False Lashes. I am very intrigued to hear your opinion if you've tried (or know anyone who's tried) this Model Co Fibre Lash. Comment below I would love to hear from you.

Pros
  • Adds length, volume and darkens lashes
  • Water resistant
  • Nice dense bristles on the extension mascara wand
Cons
  • EXTREMELY irritating on my (usually) non sensitive eyes
  • Bitch to remove (even with warm water as suggested)
  • Major transfer on bottom lash line and upper lid - raccoon eyes
  • The lash fibre's formula is way too dry and has trouble adhering to lashes
  • High chance of getting little lash fibres in your eyes
  • Overpriced!
