I am unashamedly a big fan of the Real Housewives franchise, on any given evening after a long day at the office you could peek through my blinds and find me curled up with iPhone in hand and some sort of Real Housewives on the TV. Recently I have been favoring Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which was just recently released in Australia. The mixture of extreme opulence, 90210 post code and celebrity association just has me obsessed.
Since the beginning of Season 1 I have been particularly drawn to Kyle Richards. From her amazing brunette locks to her fabulous yet affordable accessories she is fast becoming a style icon to working women and mothers everywhere. In addition to being a mother, actress, author, wife and reality star Kyle is also a self confessed makeup fanatic who does most of her own makeup for the show and events.
In a town full of plastic surgery and endless exuberantly overpriced beauty treatments Kyle keeps it real (literally) and relies on a few *affordable* products to maintain and accentuate her natural beauty. Her first book: Life Is Not A Reality Show, details all her top tips on how you can look gorgeous even if you're on a budget. From that famous head of hair to her favorite lip products and lashes Kyle reveals all.

The Hair:
Kyle is crazy about good old drugstore favorite Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner but she also stresses that healthy or beautiful hair is NOT about the products you put in it - it's all about about taking care of and being careful with your hair. Kyle aims to use as little heat on her hair as possible and takes particular care in brushing - In an interview for Family.com she reveals "I'm really neurotic about how I brush it. I won't snag it or rip it and I'm always on my four girls, You have to start from the bottom and work your way up."
So avoiding all products that might damage or dry out the hair Kyle sticks to Pantene's Clarifying Shampoo and their heaviest conditioner (details below).
The Makeup:
Kyle's signature makeup look consists of a light foundation application for radiant & natural looking skin, strong polished brows, a shimmery lid and outer corner with a soft application of kohl liner in either brown or aubergine slightly smoked out at the lash line, lots of fluttery individual false lashes and cream blush/highlighter on the cheeks with a complimentary lip combo.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser or "tinted sunblock" as Kyle refers to it in her book is one of her favourite beauty products. Preferring a light coverage during the day the Laura Mercier provides just enough coverage while protecting her skin from the sun. MUFE HD is her go to foundation for days when she needs extra coverage or is attending an event.
When it comes to lashes Kyle is all about the look of individuals, avoiding anything too heavy or unflattering on the eye - she raves about the Ardell Medium Flare Lashes and prefers the knot free variety for a more natural look. An old cult favorite and Kyle's never fail mascara is L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black.
Like the rest of us beauty devotees Kyle hates when her favorite shade becomes unavailable telling Family.com: "I could write a book just on lip gloss. There are the forgotten lost ones that they discontinued that I cry over. I go and I buy a whole bunch at a time because I'm so scared that it will get discontinued." Her current favorite lip products are MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick & Enchantress Lip Glass, LipFusion Lip Plump in Sun and L'Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss in Sunset.
