My first favourite's post... How exciting! September has been a good make-up month for me, I've finally found a few products that just work perfectly on my skin. A big month for Holy Grails.
Face
Chantecaille Just Skin - Anti Smog Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 in Bliss
This is by far the most beautiful and sophisticated tinted moisturiser I've ever used. It literally just feels like "skin", but has a lot more coverage then the average tinted moisturiser - i'd say it's about medium coverage. Perfect for summer and the weekend.
Revlon Age Defying Concealer in Light/Pale
I have tried every concealer you can think of, Bobbi Brown, a million different products from Mac, Chanel, YSL, Benefit - you name it i've had it! But i've always have a problem with the product settling in fine lines and looking a bit cakey - although some products (like the Mac Select Moisturecover) do a pretty good job i still wasn't 100% happy with the results. This Revlon Concealer was FREE with the Revlon Colourstay foundation and it does everything i could ever wish for, its so moisturising it feels like an eye cream. Its also the "only" concealer with "Botafirm" which i'm pretty sure is just a word made up by Revlon for marketing, but whatever it is it works.
Cheeks
MAC Hush CCB
The perfect creamy pinky golden highlight.
NARS Douceur Blusher
Fall 2010 Collection (US). A great contour powder for pale-light skin tones or a swipe a little over the cheeks for a soft pink-brown honey wash of colour.
NARS Desire Blusher
Cotton candy pink. Beautiful with a smokey eye.
Eyes
MAC Tan Pigment - An oldie but a goodie
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Light to Medium - Perfect for my hair/brow colour at the moment
Chanel Exceptionnel De Chanel Mascara - Sample size
Big smoky thick voluminous and curled lashes. Brush is amazing. Will be buying the full size!
NARS Rajasthan eyeshadow duo
Metallic beige and blue-black charcoal. So creamy. So pigmented. Perfect for a "different" somkey eye look.
Lips
I've really been loving warm pinks this season, i think they are much more flattering on me then the cool tone pinks like Viva Glam Gaga. Here's the names in order from left to right as they appear in pic:
MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Overtime - So pretty and lasts forever
Chantecaille Lip Chic in Camellia - The best formula of a lipstick i've ever tried. Its so hydrating with high shine and plumping. Holy Grail.
MAC Cremesheen in Creme Cup - This is my 3rd tube! My fav mac lipstick of all time.
MAC Lustre in LoveLorn - A new purchase and such a pretty colour.
I haven't been wearing a lot of lip glosses this month because the lipsticks are all fairly hydrating and shiny so i just picked one that i've been wearing the most of:
Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Twilight Petal - Smells really good, not at all sticky and the prettiest fine gold shimmer.
Other Favourites
Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream
Expensive but a really beautiful leave in conditioner for curly/wavy hair. Really softens and defines my curls while improving my hairs health and hydration. Smells good too.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Millennium Book Series
I know i'm a little late on this craze, but i really enjoyed this book.
Marilyn Monroe
I am a huge fan of Miss MM, i've read many a biography on her over the years but i found The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe by J Randy Taraborrelli to be such a real and thorough re-cap of her life. It is such a good read, even if your not MM obsessed and it offers up a lot of new info on her that's never been revealed in any other Bio. A must read.
What have you been loving this September? xx
